80’s Funk Band Midnight Star Talks On How They Got Started & Passes Valuable Information To The Next Generation

Bill Simmons and McArthur original members of the 1980’s band Midnight Star shared a moment with Tall Boy at the Wolf Creek Amphitheater on Saturday, August 20, 2016 for the “Wolf Creek Funk Series“.  The concert lineup consisted of Morris Day and The Time, Rose Royce, & Brick.

The group was formed in 1976 at Kentucky State University. A 1978 New York City showcase inspired Solar Records chief Dick Griffey to sign the group, and early 80’s albums like The Beginning, Standing Together, and Victor.  They are known for their hit songs Midas Touch, Curious, Freak-A-Zoid, and No Parking On The Dance Floor.
