Activist and Rapper David Banner attended the Birth Of A Nation advanced Atlanta screening and shared his thoughts on the movie. The movie was hosted by Liquid Soul Media at the Regal Atlantic Station 18 movie theater. Banner shared why he came out to the advanced screening and spoke on African American films depicting blacks as slaves. After watching the film Banner spoke exclusively to Tall Boy about supporting actor Nate Parker, the police system we have in place, and a whole lot more.
ABOUT THE BIRTH OF A NATION
Set against the antebellum South, THE BIRTH OF A NATION follows Nat Turner (Nate Parker), a literate slave and preacher, whose financially strained owner, Samuel Turner (Armie Hammer), accepts an offer to use Nat’s preaching to subdue unruly slaves. As he witnesses countless atrocities – against himself and his fellow slaves – Nat orchestrates an uprising in the hopes of leading his people to freedom.
