Bankhead Shows Nothing But Love For Shawty Lo

Tall Boy spoke to the family of Shawty Lo at the Candlelight Vigil

One of Atlanta’s beloved music artist Carlos Walker aka Shawty Lo had hundreds of people from fans to family members come out and support his legacy in Bankhead.  Walker, known as one of the co-founders of D4L and for his solo hit “Dey Know,” was killed in a fiery car crash early-Wednesday morning in Atlanta. Still mourning from the news, hundreds of Atlantans and fans showed up outside of his Bankhead studio/office space for a candlelight vigil to honor “Carlos from Bankhead.”  Lo represented the “other side” of “real” Atlanta.

Family members spoke exclusively to Tall Boy about seeing all the people come out and support and how they think he would want to be remembered. “He was the foundation our family” says his sister Sie.  “Look at the love” says D4L member Mook B.  He will be cherished and missed.  Let his name live on says his manager Johnnie Cabbell.  Funeral arrangements have not been made at this moment but don’t be surprised if he passes through Bankhead one more time.
