Spelman College hosted a College Arts and Entertainment Summit on Thursday October 27, 2016. 135 Street Agency managing partner Saptosa Foster shared a personal story on her perseverance as a public relations professional. She also spoke on the importance on “Black Hollywood”. The panel was moderated by Fonzworth Bently, producer and host of MTV’s From G’s to Gents and also on the panel with Foster was Brielle Urssery, senior manager program planning and scheduling, BET, D’Angela Proctor, executive producer, TV One, Kelly Edwards, vice president Talent Development and Programming, HBO and Traci Blackwell, senior vice president of Current Programming, CW Network.
The summit was designed to inform students of the various non-performing opportunities in film, television, and music.
The breakout sessions covered a variety of topics including trending new media, TV and film producing, programming and casting, the music business, marketing, public relations and entertainment law.
Students engaged with alumnae and other entertainment professionals who provided valuable advice for future careers.
