Once again, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) was out in force at the 34th Annual Mayor’s Masked Ball in support for the national historically black colleges and universities, also known as HBCU’s.. What makes it especially notable is this will be outgoing Mayor Kasim Reed last, who also was the night’s host, and mayor-elect Keisha Lance-Bottoms first ball as elected officials. This year $1.3 million was raised to help fund scholarships for those potential student’s higher education.
Since 1983, the veritable Who’s Who in Atlanta turned out for this wonderful cause and this year was no different. We are what we are because for at least 155-years [Morehouse and Clark]. We have been turning out the best educated most dedicated and spiritual leaders in the world.”
