BMW introduced their “Celebration of Culture” evening as a celebration of cultural diversity and the turnout was spectacular. This was another in a long line of programs and evidence that supports the automobile brand’s support of cultural diversity inclusion worldwide. The night was enhanced by food, fashion, art and music.
This installment of “Celebration of Culture” was to support chefs, cuisine and featured an international cuisine that ranged from Cuban to Indian. The program supports, encourages and brings chefs to events like this. In recognition of BMW’s commitment, the effort was rewarded by a $5000 donation by legendary basketball great Julius “Dr. J” Erving @JULIUSERVING from the “Grab A Ball & Play” Foundation to Kevin Williams @BMWUSA, BMW Group’s head of multicultural marketing. The “Grab A Ball & Play” Foundation raises funds to purchase and donate new athletic balls to committed under served youth participating in community sports and enrichment programs.
Some of the event attendees turning out at the Georgia Freight Depot in downtown Atlanta Jonathan Slocumb @IAMJONATHANSLOCUMB, Jermaine Dupri @JERMAINEDUPRI as well as chef’s Palek Patel @CHEFPALEK, Nichelle Benford @DREAMCHEFKITCHEN and Ronaldo Linares @RONALSOLINARES.
The night was highlighted with special guest Doug E Fresh @THE REALDOUGEFRESH, iconic rapper, beatboxer and record producer. “They asked us to come and participate in this lovely event and I think it’s beautiful to show the multiple cultures, the multi-racial cultures, and how it all wraps around BMW as a brand. It’s a beautiful experience.”
With the strong belief, commitment and investment in cultural diversity through their many initiatives, BMW continues to show they are not only a unique driving experience, they are also supporters and leaders in the promotion of lifestyles we interact with on a global basis.
