8th Annual Legendary Awards Gold Carpet Conversations

Grady Health System CEO John Haupert @GRADYCEO is the Health Award recipient for the 2018 Legendary Awards. The Arkansas native’s contribution to Grady’s Hospital was continuing assurance that everybody who needs care, gets the care and any health disparities don’t exist in Atlanta.

Retired Command Sergeant Major Jesse L. Andrews, Jr is humble about receiving the 2018 Service Award.  With such a distinguished military career, he is accepting on behalf of a lot of amazing people, those hundreds of thousands of soldiers he’s had the opportunity to serve. “They are the ones who truly deserve to be honored.

Dr. Melvin Pender received the 2018 Sports Award and is duly qualified. With a solid military career that saw a call to duty twice during the Vietnam era, he invited all to Google him, and by doing that some of his records will include starting running track at age 25, which led to 2 Olympic teams. The 1st Olympic track team Dr. Pender joined was at age 27, the 2nd team at age 31. He has won gold medals, set world records, is listed in 11-hall of fames, etc. On top of all this, he used to work for the Hawks.

DJ Nabs @DJNABSINLAB was the presenter for Jermaine Dupree, who he says was instrumental in his career since the CrissCross days in 1992. He stopped for a moment to tell a memorable story about this music icon.

Keisha Jackson @KEISHAJACKSON presented for her longtime friend Porshe Foxx, and stopped by to fill us in on what’s going on and coming up in her world. Keisha conveyed she was excited to be there to honor those hometown folks who have been grinding for a long time. Not surprisingly, she’s working on new product that’s blues/soul-inspired with Otis Redding, III and her radio show “Soul Sisters” she’s co-hosting with Heather Hayes and Yama Brown.
