New Birth Baptist Church Minister Dr. Jamal Bryant Discusses Life after First Anniversary, Tupac Shakur, Ministry Transition and His African Royalty Connection

Dr. Jamal Bryant has been New Birth Baptist Church for a year now and things have changed for the positive after the tumultuous background and scandal during the Eddie Long tenure. It wasn’t an easy road but Dr. Bryant brought a new life and direction to the already existing foundation that has paid off tremendously for the community.

Often, Dr. Bryant makes headlines for his initiatives. However, the past year has proven that with the right direction and dogged determination has proven being under the radar makes better sense. Still, his accomplishments are the fruits of his labor when it came to everyone’s involvement in the church community.

In this interview, he discusses his affiliation with Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg’s gospel album release, Kanye West’s initiative, New Birth’s contribution to uplifting and building the surrounding community. Dr. Bryant also tells how he chose a Masters in Theology after attending Duke University. He also discusses his African royalty since becoming King in Ghana. Yes, it’s a real thing.
